Job summary

CONSTANT TEAMWORK SDN. BHD in Ipoh, Perak is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team.

This full-time role supports financial and commercial management across projects, ensuring costs are controlled and delivered on time. You will prepare tender estimates, manage pre- and post-contract administration, and coordinate procurement, with strong focus on accuracy and compliance with Malaysian regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution.
• 3-5 years practical experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of contract management, project costing, and procurement procedures.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Malaysian building regulations, safety standards, and project delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tender cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and tender documentation.
• Manage pre-contract and post-contract administration, including budgets, cost planning, and cost control.
• Prepare quantity measurements, take-offs, rate build-ups, and Letters of Award.
• Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
• Manage procurement of construction materials and related resources.
• Prepare and evaluate progress claims for subcontractors and clients.
• Coordinate with project team on contractual matters (VO, EOT, L&E, variations).
• Attend joint site valuations, final measurements, and project meetings.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate Variation Order claims and Final Accounts.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Preferably possess experience in Building Construction and/or Civil Engineering.
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle. This role is essential to ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
• Preferably possess experience in the Building Construction and/or Civil Engineering industry.
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management from time to time.

What we're looking for

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline from a recognised institution
• Minimum 3-5 years of practical experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of contract management, project costing, and procurement procedures
• Proficiency in relevant software including cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with the capacity to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Knowledge of Malaysian building regulations, safety standards, and project delivery methodologies
