• Working knowledge of FMCS/EMS/BMS architecture and protocols; familiarity with AI energy algorithms or digital twins is a plus.

Application Manager – AI Energy Efficiency / HVAC

We are working with a fast-scaling AI energy efficiency / smart controls company in the HVAC and industrial automation space, with live projects across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the US. As they grow their overseas business, they need a Pre-Sales Technical Consultant based in Malaysia to lead technical solutioning for industrial and commercial clients — from first site visit through to tender submission and contract close.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who can assess a client's facility, diagnose energy and control system issues, and turn that into a credible, well-costed proposal.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical tender documentation and represent the technical position in client meetings and clarifications

Support sales with product demos, POCs, and technical presentations; shape solutions around client needs (power, cooling, energy storage, energy management)

Support negotiations and finalize technical contract terms

Enable overseas distributors/SIs with training and technical materials so they can pitch and demo independently

Coordinate with delivery and HQ product/R&D teams to keep proposals deliverable; feed back client and competitor insights

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in HVAC, Electrical Automation, Power/Energy Engineering, or related field

5+ years' relevant experience (3+ with a postgraduate degree); industrial HVAC/FMCS project experience strongly preferred

Working knowledge of FMCS/EMS/BMS architecture and protocols (Modbus, BACnet, OPC-UA); experience with AI energy algorithms, digital twins, or smart O&M is a plus

Fluent business English, spoken and written; Mandarin is an advantage (China HQ liaison); other SEA/Middle East languages a plus

Self-driven, strong communicator, comfortable with ambiguity, willing to travel

Nice to Have

Energy storage solution experience; PMP or similar certification

Partnerships with energy storage/electrical OEMs
