Job summary

Intrix Renewable Sdn Bhd. is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead technical development of energy efficiency and decarbonisation solutions, focusing on heat pumps and heat recovery.

You will perform audits, system design, and verification, working across manufacturing and commercial sites. The ideal candidate has a strong background in HVAC, thermodynamics and energy calculations with 5+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and related design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Energy Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in energy efficiency, HVAC, heat pumps/chillers, industrial utilities, process systems or related fields.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid systems and energy calculations.
• Experience in energy audits, heat recovery, process integration or industrial energy projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical development of energy efficiency and decarbonisation solutions, from audit to implementation and verification.
• Conduct energy audits for industrial and commercial applications with data collection and baseline establishment.
• Identify opportunities for heat pump, heat recovery, process heating and cooling applications.
• Develop measurement plans and determine instrumentation for energy assessment.
• Perform engineering calculations including heating/cooling load, COP, energy savings and ROI.
• Prepare technical proposals with equipment selection, drawings, BOQ and costing.
• Conduct post-installation measurement & verification to verify energy savings.

Job description

Lead the technical development of energy efficiency and decarbonisation solutions, from energy audit and system design to implementation support and performance verification, with primary focus on heat pump and heat recovery applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct energy audits for industrial and commercial applications, including site assessment, data collection, measurement planning and baseline establishment.
• Understand customer processes and identify opportunities for heat pump, heat recovery, process heating and cooling applications.
• Develop measurement plans and determine the required flow meters, power meters, temperature sensors and other instrumentation for energy assessment.
• Perform engineering calculations including heating/cooling load, equipment sizing, COP, energy savings, operating cost savings and CO₂ reduction.
• Develop system integration designs covering heat pumps, chillers, PHEX, pumps, tanks, piping, electrical and controls.
• Prepare technical proposals including equipment selection, calculations, schematics/P&ID, drawings, BOQ and costing.
• Evaluate project financial viability including CAPEX, savings, payback and ROI for energy saving and zero CAPEX projects.
• Provide independent technical assessment on system feasibility, limitations and alternative solutions.
• Support detailed design and coordinate technical handover to the Project Team, contractors and suppliers.
• Conduct post-installation Measurement & Verification (M&V) to verify actual system performance and energy savings.
• Provide technical support for commercial/hotel heat pump applications when required.

• Able to independently audit, analyse and develop solutions for unfamiliar factory processes.
• Able to make sound engineering judgement independently.
• Hands‑on, proactive, independent and comfortable working at factories and project sites.
• Able to clearly explain what can be done, what cannot ovibe done, why, and the alternative solution.

Who Are We Looking For?

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Energy Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in energy efficiency, HVAC, heat pumps/chillers, industrial utilities, process systems or related fields.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid systems and energy calculations.
• Experience in energy audits, heat recovery, process integration or industrial energy projects is an added advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel and AI tools; SolidWorks/Revit is an added advantage.
• Able to prepare and interpret engineering calculations, drawings, schematics and P&IDs.
• Willing to travel throughout Malaysia.
