RUNJIAN (M) SDN. BHD. seeks a Sales Director to develop and execute Malaysia's local market strategy for energy and digital solutions.
The role focuses on distributed solar PV, energy management, and AI-enabled platforms, leading cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and close deals. You will build relationships with C&I clients, energy service providers, EPCs, and system integrators, translating customer needs into commercial solutions and leading a high-performing market development
Develop and execute the company's local market strategy for energy and digital solutions in Malaysia, with a focus on distributed solar PV, energy efficiency, energy management, O&M services, and digital energy platforms. Lead customer discovery, business opportunity assessment, solution positioning, commercial negotiations, contract signing, and project handover. Work closely with technical, product, pre-sales, and project teams to develop customized solutions combining solar PV, energy efficiency, O&M, IoT, digital platforms, and AI.
Develop and execute the company's local market strategy for energy and digital solutions in Malaysia, with a focus on distributed solar PV, energy efficiency, energy management, O&M services, and digital energy platforms
Identify and develop new business opportunities among commercial and industrial (C&I) customers, energy-intensive enterprises, industrial parks, property developers, facility management companies, and energy service companies
Develop local market channels and establish long-term relationships with key customers, energy service providers, O&M companies, system integrators, EPC contractors, and industry partners
Leverage existing local energy operation and maintenance (O&M) resources to develop customer opportunities and build an integrated ecosystem covering energy assets, O&M services, digital platforms, and AI solutions
Promote the company's Rundo platform and AI Agent solutions, identifying customer pain points in energy management, asset operations, facility management, and business operations, and converting them into digital solution opportunities
Develop strategic partnerships with local energy companies, O&M providers, technology companies, consultants, EPC contractors, and other ecosystem partners
Establish and manage the Malaysia market pipeline, including target customers, sales opportunities, project value, probability of conversion, and expected revenue
Monitor market trends, competitors, customer needs, energy policies, and emerging technologies to identify new business models and growth opportunities
Build and lead the local market development team, establish sales targets and performance management mechanisms, and continuously improve market development capabilities
Regularly report market development progress, key customer opportunities, strategic partnerships, and revenue forecasts to management
Malaysian citizen or candidate with full working rights in Malaysia
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Energy, Information Technology, or a related discipline
Minimum 8 years of experience in business development, sales, market development, or strategic partnerships within the energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, O&M, industrial technology, or digital solutions sectors
Proven experience in Malaysia's solar PV, energy management, energy efficiency, O&M, ESCO, or industrial energy services market
Strong local customer and industry network, particularly among C&I customers, industrial enterprises, property developers, energy service providers, O&M companies, EPC contractors, or facility management companies
Strong understanding of customer business models and the ability to translate customer operational problems into commercially viable solutions
Strong business development, negotiation, presentation, and strategic partnership capabilities
Experience in building and managing a sales or business development team
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to independently develop new markets and business models
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin or Chinese communication skills are an advantage
