Job summary

Semtech is seeking an Accounts Payable Intern in Ipoh, Malaysia to support the Finance & Accounting team under Senior AP supervision. You will help process invoices, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end close, gaining hands-on experience in end-to-end AP operations.

You will develop skills in Excel and ERP systems, maintain organized records, and contribute to audits while learning in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Intern provides administrative and clerical support to the Finance & Accounting team under the supervision of the Senior Accounts Payable. The primary focus of this role is to assist in processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices in a timely and efficient manner, while gaining hands-on experience in end-to-end accounts payable operations.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process invoices — ensuring proper documentation, approval, and 3‑way P.O. matching; enter verified invoices accurately into the system.
• Reconcile vendor statements; investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate, organized files and documentation in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist in the month‑end closing process, including performing relevant accounting entries.
• Provide supporting documentation and assist during internal and external audits.
• Support the end‑to‑end accounts payable process and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Commerce, or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting or ERP software.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and general ledger systems, procedures, and financial chart of accounts.
• Skilled in documentation, data entry, data analysis, and research.
