As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth operation of our accounting department. What you'll be doing

• Recording financial transactions in accounting systems and ensuring all entries are accurate and properly documented
• Processing invoices, purchase orders and expense reports in a timely manner
• Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies for resolution
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including payment processing and collection follow-ups
• Preparing and maintaining financial records, ledgers and supporting documentation
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Performing data entry tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
• Supporting senior accounting staff with ad-hoc accounting duties and special projects as required

What we're looking for

• Qualification in accounting, finance or a related field, or relevant accounting experience at a similar level
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail in all financial transactions
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping and financial processes
• Reliable communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately
• Demonstrated reliability and commitment to meeting deadlines in a part-time capacity
• Preferred having experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or general bookkeeping
