Perform purchasing activities for a wide range of global and locally sourced materials and services for assigned commodities, rigs and/or projects as applicable.

Ensure that all purchasing activity is completed in compliance with Company policy and procedures from approved suppliers in the most cost effective, efficient manner and at the highest quality.

• Maintain key accounts with suppliers, sourcing and supplying goods from enquiry to dispatch, expediting, updating systems regularly, and negotiating costs and discounts.
• Provide an efficient, cost-effective service for materials and supplies, reviewing intercompany material allocation and purchase or rental options.
• Convert all purchase requisitions for materials, supplies, and services into purchase orders or agreements.
• Follow up promptly on clarifications and requests from suppliers or the rig.
• Make purchasing decisions based on benchmark prices, costs, logistics, and import restrictions.
• Ensure all repairs, services, and third-party charges comply with company policies and rig standards.
• Perform expediting for overdue orders.
• Monitor and track Repair and Return (R&R) items and ensure appropriate action.
• Assist accounts payable with invoice discrepancies and ensure timely processing of supplier invoices.
• Resolve vendor invoicing and shipment discrepancies, negotiating acceptable and timely resolutions, and escalate complex issues.
• Review SCM KPIs and take prompt action to address underperformance.
• Monitor vendor delivery performance, documenting delays, quality issues, discrepancies, and pricing concerns.
• Participate in vendor assessments and recommend actions as per company policies.
• Develop knowledge on new laws, market developments, and products relevant to operations.
• Provide procurement process guidance to departments.
• Adhere to company purchasing policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with end users to improve purchasing processes and compliance.
• Ensure sourcing and supply adhere to company policies.
• Ensure import compliance with customs regulations and stay updated on import-export requirements.
• Prepare reports supporting purchasing activities.
• Communicate with field teams on purchasing issues for effective coordination.
• Identify potential suppliers for inclusion in the approved vendor list.
• Communicate internally with co-workers, supervisors, finance, and operations teams.
• Collaborate with functions like finance and legal.
• Communicate externally with suppliers and peers.
• Support and mentor junior buyers for their development and career progression.
• Take responsibility for personal professional development and training.
• This is a shore-based role requiring attention to detail and data management, working under general supervision, with minimal travel.

• High School Maths & English or equivalent.
• College/vocational or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or similar preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in procurement/logistics within the oil and gas industry or related fields.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Strong understanding of purchasing practices and ethics.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of procurement systems.
• Strong analytical skills, cost-conscious, disciplined, and organized.
