Eaton seeks an SMT Manufacturing Engineer to design, validate and implement SMT assembly lines with thorough process documentation and controls. You will support production, lead technicians, and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing lifecycle.

Responsibilities include developing tooling, fixtures, PFMEA and APQP artifacts, and advancing Industry 4.0 initiatives in a bid to improve quality and throughput. Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics or Mechanics.
• Minimum 2 years in SMT manufacturing and equipment areas.
• Experience with PFMEA, process flow and APQP.
• Strong English and Spanish communication with leadership and analytical skills.

Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a SMT Mfg Engineer. Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. What you'll do

Primary Function:

Responsible to design, validate and implement SMT manufacturing systems; including process documentation, control and optimization through the life of the product. An Engineer seeks and promotes the continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes on current and transfers businesses.

Essential Functions:

• Supports Production Area, contribute to the SQDCI metrics of the focus factory.
• Participate on required meetings related to the focus factory, participates in safety assessments and generate JSA and MOC (Job safety analysis and Management of changes).
• Manages SMT technicians for production support, program development, NPI support and other.
• Create, design, validate and implement manufacturing systems (assembly lines) including documentation (PFMEA, WIs, flow chart, procedures) and establishes and implement process controls.
• Participate on quality system improvements and implement changes accordingly through the APQP methodology.
• Develop and implement tools as per new or revised requirements (standard tooling) and new design fixtures for assembly (fixtures, stencils)
• Establishes preventive maintenance program for new assembly systems or stations.
• Deals with process abnormities, improves pass rate and decrease rejection rate and evaluates new components. Routing Management in the ERP system (SAP), implementation of standard work and improve line efficiency and seeks and promotes Cost Out Projects
• Develop and implement Industry 4.0 initiatives linked to an automotive mindset.
• Develop and implement product/process changes such as MCO's, deviations and validations.
• Seeks and promotes the continuous improvement (Lean manufacturing system), Uses daily production data (yields/thru-put/etc.) to develop and execute corrective actions plans to drive continuous improvement.
• Routing management in the ERP system (SAP), Participate during layout changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics or Mechanics (or similar).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in SMT manufacturing and equipment areas and/or similar position.
• Experience/knowledge with process and equipment validation, PFEMA, process flow, APQP, etc.
• Strong knowledge in IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/21. Basic knowledge on CQI-17.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, leadership skills, proactive, strong organization and analytical thinker.
