Eaton Corporation's Vehicle and Emobility division in Mexico is seeking a Test Engineer to design, validate, and sustain test systems, driving automation and process improvements.

Responsibilities include implementing test fixtures, leading improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with APQP, PFMEA, and quality standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and SAP-based ERP processes are required.

Formación

• Experience with PFMEA, process flow, APQP.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IATF-16949.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proactive and analytical.

• Develop TPM programs and ensure proper implementation on test equipment to reduce downtime.
• Execute test validation methods to meet APQP-based quality specs.
• Create training materials for test operations and ensure operator training.
• Develop and implement Industry 4.0 improvements for automotive mindset.
• Lead Capital Investment projects to improve productivity and cost savings.

Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Test Engineer.

Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function:

Responsible to design, validate, implement and sustain test systems; including documentation, training and statistical process control. An Engineer seeks and promotes the continuous improvement and automation of the test processes on current and transfers businesses.

Essential Functions:

1. Optimize test process complying with customer demand, quality, product specifications and safety to improve production shop floor in order to accomplish company goals.
2. Responsible of creating test standard procedures and follow up adherence, support focus factory units to eliminate or mitigate down time.
3. Follow up and implement equipment, process and product changes according to MCOs and deviations, implement corrective and preventive actions according to the quality system to avoid reoccurrence of failures.
4. Test equipment development/improvement (software and hardware) Design, develop and implement test fixtures with proper guarding to eliminate or mitigate any risks, Implement automation projects for more reliable processes and cost out savings according to assigned budget.
5. Routing management in the ERPsystem(SAP),lead and participate in VSM and Kaizen events, implement standard work to improve line efficiency, seeks and promotes Cost Out Projects.
6. Develop TPM programs (Total preventive maintenance) and assure correct implementation on test equipment to reduce down time.
7. Execute test validation methods to meet quality test specifications according to APQP methodology.
8. Develop training materials for test operations and make sure technicians and equipment operators are trained according to standards.
9. Create, design, validate and implement test systems including documentation (PFMEA, WIs, flow chart, procedures) and establishes and implement process controls.
10. Develop and implement improvement solutions based on Industry 4.0 with an automotive mindset.
11. Lead Capital Investment projects to improve productivity, cost savings, replace obsolete equipment and others by following the financial guidelines, working on a project timeline and coordinating all activities for the complete successful implementation of the project and participate in layout changes.
12. Participates in safety assessments and generate JSA and MOC (Job safety analysis and Management of changes).

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Preferred education level:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Electromechanical, mechatronics, biomedical engineering or similar.

Years and area of experience required:

• 1- 3 years of experience in electrical test and equipment areas and/or similar position.
• 1-3 years of experience on building electronic products.
• Experience/knowledge with process and equipment validation, PFEMA, process flow, APQP, etc.

Technical knowledge:

• Strong knowledge in IPC-A-610, and basic knowledge of IATF-16949.
• Basic knowledge on Labview, TestStand, Chroma preffered
• Strong written and verbal , leaders skills, proactive, strong organization and analytical thinker.
• Knowledge on ICT and Functional Testers
