Eaton Corporation in Mexico is seeking a Sr Test Development Engineer to design, validate, and implement insourcing and NPI testing for the PCBA Center of Excellence, coordinating with global design teams.

The role requires 3-5 years in electronic test engineering, strong ICT/Functional Tester experience, and proficiency in C++, C#, LabVIEW, Python, and embedded communications. On-site in Tijuana, English required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Mechatronics or similar.
• 3-5 years in electronic/electrical test engineering roles.
• 3-5 years in NPI or transfers in an electronic environment.
• Strong ICT/Functional Tester experience; English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Design, validate and implement insourcing and NPI projects for the PCBA Center Of Excellence.
• Prepare process documentation, test training, and capital equipment requirements.
• Develop test fixtures and validate ICT/Functional tests; coordinate with global design teams.
• Support test equipment procurement, qualification, and ongoing reliability plans.
• Lead test program development, DFT integration, and production handoff.
• Coordinate with production for handoffs and ensure adherence to Eaton standards.

Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Sr Test Development Engineer.

Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time..

What you’ll do:

Responsible to design, validate and implementation of insourcing & NPI projects for the PCBA Center Of Excellence, including process documentation, test training, capital equipment, programming, fixture designs, and comunication with design engineering teams across the globe.

Essential Functions:

1. 1 Support on NPI/Insourcing product quotes
2. 2 Test Equipment quotations, Installation, and validation
3. 3 Test fixturing developing and validation for ICT and Functional Test
4. 4 Procurement of critical parts for test equipment
5. 5 Test execution program based on design specifications
6. 6 Sustaining plan for new testers for production hand off
7. 7 Safety Remediation and Validation for new testers according to Eaton standards
8. 8 Test program development for ICT (Bed of nails or Flying probe)
9. 9 Quotation of new equipment & technologies, support on the annual profit plan
10. 10 Capital equipment quotation, installation and validation
11. 11 Strategic training coordination for test
12. 12 Creation and follow up test project gantts
13. 13 Communication channel with design engineering team for test development
14. 14 Engineering changes follow up and implementation for test development
15. 15 Coordination of hand off with production for test processes
16. 16 Design for testing (DFT)

Qualifications:

Basic qualifications:

• * Preferred education level: Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Electromechanical, mechatronics, biomedical engineering or similar.

Years and area of experience required:

• * 3-5 years of experience in electronic/electrical test engineering positions
• * 3-5 years of experience in new product introduction or transfers in an electronic enviroment

Technical knowledge:

• * Highly skilled on ICT and Functional Tester platforms: Chroma, IES, Seica & Custom
• * Skilled on programming languages: C++/ C#, Lab View, Python & PLC
• * Skilled on design softwares: AutoCAD, Solidwork, Altium/ CAM350
• * Skilled on embedded system communication: USB, Modbus, Serial, TCP
• * Basic knowledge of troubleshooting
• * Knowledge of IPC-610 standards & ESD standards
• * Advanced English (speaking, writting & reading)
