Nubank in Mexico City is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and evolution of large-scale distributed systems. You will influence technical decisions and collaborate with adjacent teams while continuing to learn and work with our Clojure backend stack.

You will build scalable microservices, work with Kafka, DynamoDB, and Datomic, and contribute to CI/CD, observability, and deployment pipelines in AWS.

Formación

• At least 6 years of experience developing digital products in complex environments.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies.
• A proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale systems that serve thousands or millions of users.
• Strong background in object-oriented or functional programming languages, with ability to work across multiple languages.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives end-to-end within a team and with partner teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar in their teams.
• Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies and prior experience with CI/CD.
• Strong communication skills to identify and prevent risks and explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Advanced English skills.

• Lead technical direction for your team and partner with adjacent teams to align with architecture and business strategy.
• Drive pragmatic innovation while ensuring resilient, secure, and scalable solutions across products and geographies.
• Mentor engineers within and around your team and help maintain a high technical bar.
• Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain high-quality code.
• Pair and participate in code reviews to support growth of others around your team.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to build end-to-end experiences.
• Ensure comprehensive observability, performance monitoring, and robust error handling across services.
• Participate in on-call rotations for your team and respond to incidents as necessary.
• Focus primarily on backend applications.
