Nu in Mexico City seeks a Lead Software Engineer to shape the technical direction across multiple teams, building large‑scale distributed systems with a focus on backend services written primarily in Clojure.

You will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD, and collaborate with Product and Design to deliver resilient, scalable solutions for millions of customers across Latin America. The role offers a hybrid work model with in-office days.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience building digital products in complex environments.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud technologies.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale systems serving thousands or millions of users.
• Strong background in object-oriented or functional programming across multiple languages.
• Experience leading technical initiatives across teams, with mentoring responsibilities.
• Practical knowledge of agile software development and CI/CD practices.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate risks and trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Advanced English skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead technical direction for multiple teams and align with architecture strategies.
• Drive architecture for scalable, secure, and resilient backend services.
• Mentor engineers across teams to raise the technical bar.
• Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain high-quality code.
• Participate in code reviews and support growth of engineers around you.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders on end-to-end experiences.
• Ensure observability and robust error handling across services.
• Support on-call rotations and incident response.
• Contribute to backend (and some mobile/frontend) work as needed.
