Job summary

Nubank in Mexico City is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in building scalable systems. You will drive delivery, architecture decisions, and collaboration across teams in a hybrid work model.

The ideal candidate has experience leading engineering teams, strong people management skills, and fluency in English to coordinate with a global team. You will shape engineering practices and mentor engineers to grow.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams, ideally with a background as engineer or architect.
• Accountability for people management, performance, and career growth.
• Experience leading agile ceremonies, metrics, and processes.
• Ability to participate in architecture discussions and translate complex tech to non-engineers.
• Advanced English level to collaborate with a global team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 8–10 software engineers (ICs).
• Foster a culture of teamwork, feedback and continuous improvement.
• Conduct effective 1:1s, team meetings and rituals.
• Manage individual contributors, enabling high performance.
• Deliver distributed systems at scale.
• Align stakeholders around team vision, goals and metrics.
• Reason about software architecture design decisions.
• Look and implement improvements in how we work and organize.
