Job summary

LotusFlare, Inc. in Mexico City is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to replace traditional back ends with a dynamic product stack. You will design, secure and scale backend infrastructure capable of millions of concurrent API calls, working with a global engineering team on distributed systems.

You will own the full software lifecycle, collaborate closely with product teams, and contribute to performance improvements and security best practices in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• A BA/BS in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience would be a plus
• 5+ years designing, building and deploying highly scalable, secure web services in production
• Stack includes Node.js, Lua, Scala; experience in Java, Python, Go, C++ or similar welcome
• Strong knowledge of security best practices, performance optimization and fault tolerance
• In-depth understanding of distributed-systems concepts such as consistency, fault tolerance and consensus algorithms
• Expertise in RESTful API design, including API gateways, API documentation tools and API security
• Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS) and their impact on performance and security
• Strong understanding of concurrency models and challenges in high-traffic environments
• Advanced data modeling skills in SQL and NoSQL databases
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless and DevOps tools

Responsibilities

• Own the full software lifecycle: development, testing, code reviews, and production maintenance
• Develop, secure and scale backend infrastructure to handle millions of concurrent API calls
• Collaborate with product and other engineering teams to deliver reliable systems
• Provide support to teammates and take ownership of your code
