Job summary

Carter’s Inc. in Mexico is seeking a payroll specialist to ensure accurate gross payroll calculations for Retail, Corporate, and Nearshoring staff.

You will handle overtime, holidays, vacation premiums, and other payroll concepts with attention to compliance and timeliness. You will also manage time and attendance validation, severance and final settlements on terminations, calculate income tax withholdings, and coordinate with government institutions on payroll reporting and related projects to

Responsibilities

• Calculate gross payroll including overtime, holidays, and vacation premium for Retail, Corporate, and Nearshoring staff.
• Collect, review, and validate attendance records and payroll incidences for Retail, Corporate, Nearshoring.
• Calculate severance payments, seniority premiums, and final settlements for terminated employees.
• Calculate income tax withholdings and employer contributions, ensuring Mexican labor/tax compliance.
• Coordinate payroll reporting with government bodies and platforms (IDSE, FONACOT).
• Analyze payroll data and prepare workpapers for close and reconciliations.
• Support implementation and optimization of payroll systems and processes.

Payroll Processing: Calculate gross payroll, including overtime, statutory holidays, vacation premium, and other applicable payroll concepts for Retail, Corporate, and Nearshoring employees.

Time & Attendance Management: Collect, review, and validate attendance records, payroll incidences, and medical leaves for Retail, Corporate, and Nearshoring employees.

Termination Management: Calculate severance payments, seniority premiums, and final settlements upon employee termination for Retail, Corporate, and Nearshoring employees.

Legal and Tax Compliance: Calculate and process applicable income tax withholdings and employer contributions, ensuring compliance with Mexican labor and tax regulations.

Government Institution Administration: Manage payroll-related processes and requirements with government institutions and platforms, including IDSE and FONACOT.

Payroll Reporting: Analyze payroll information and prepare supporting workpapers for payroll accounting close and reconciliations

Payroll Projects: Support and participate in the implementation and optimization of payroll systems and related processes.
