Job summary

Atomic Hr is seeking a Technical SEO Lead to drive technical SEO across a portfolio of higher education clients, improving visibility in traditional search and AI-powered results.

You will write developer-ready specs, handle WordPress tweaks, monitor Search Console and GA4, and build Claude-based tools to scale audits, reports, and QA. This fully remote role offers compensation based on experience and a chance to influence how the agency delivers SEO services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO with at least 3 focused on technical SEO
• Proven track record of uncovering high-impact issues and fixing them
• Hands-on with key SEO tools listed (GSC/GA4/Screaming Frog/Ahrefs or Semrush)
• Strong WordPress knowledge to spec fixes precisely
• Clear written communication for specs and client-facing recommendations
• Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and broken links
• Prioritize issues by impact and effort
• Write dev-ready specs and follow through until fixes are released and verified
• Handle light WordPress implementations: titles, meta descriptions, plugin redirects, and schema
• Monitor Google Search Console and GA4 for drops and indexing issues
• Own AI readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO)
• Design and build Claude-based tools, agents, and workflows for audits, prioritization, reporting, and QA
• Build content production systems from briefs to draft-ready content
• Translate standards into reusable systems for the team
• Connect Search Console, GA4, crawl exports, Ahrefs/Semrush into actionable workflows
• Document systems, train the team, and measure time saved
• Act as the team’s go-to technical resource
• Join client calls for deep technical topics
• Evaluate emerging search technologies and tools
