Job summary

First Point Group seeks a Core Support Engineer for a 100% remote role based in Mexico, supporting a leading US telecommunications operator. You will own IMS troubleshooting, core network surveillance, and Kubernetes cluster monitoring from a distributed cloud environment.

Responsibilities include analyzing VoLTE/5G signaling, managing containerized deployments, and coordinating with tier-one US teams while maintaining high availability and adherence to SLAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field as listed.
• 3+ years in telecom core networks, IMS, or SRE roles.
• Hands-on IMS, SIP signaling, and voice/data networks experience.
• Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native network functions proficiency.
• Experience with packet captures (Wireshark) and signaling logs.
• Familiarity with ITIL and carrier-grade SLAs.
• Strong English communication for cross-border work.
• Legal work authorization and reliable internet in Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support, incident management, and troubleshooting for IMS core networks.
• Monitor containerized microservices on Kubernetes in production.
• Analyze signaling protocols and core network traffic flows.
• Coordinate with US operators, engineers, and vendors.
• Investigate performance issues and service outages promptly.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and telemetry to mitigate bottlenecks.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and shift handover reports.
