Job summary

USTBC ABB Installation Products Inc. in Mexico is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Engineer for site-works coordination and cost control.

You will support bid teams and Project Manager, ensuring compliance with contract specs, safety and quality standards, while providing technical support on site works and cybersecurity considerations. The role requires coordinating external resources, conducting site surveys, tracking spend against forecasts, and updating the project cost in the business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electro-mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with electrical systems testing, design, installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Eplan, AutoCAD Electrical or similar software for electrical design.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% nationally to customer sites.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities between external resources and the customer, informing on site works planning, product knowledge and safety procedures.
• Support cost-control for the project site work, monitor spend against forecasts and estimate final cost.
• Perform site surveys and determine steps to execute site works activities.
• Participate in on-site reviews and ensure cost adjustments are updated in the business system.
• Define guarantee management and acceptance processes.

This position reports to:

Project Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and support site-works team in cost-effective execution related deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements. Each day, you will provide technical support for all site works related issues to the proposal team during bid preparation and to the Project Manager at the project start up. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations, standards, and contractual requirements.

The work model for the role is: #LI-Remote

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Sales and Solutions division in Mexico.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Assisting in coordination of activities between external resources and the customer, guaranteeing that the external resources are fully informed on site works planning activities, product knowledge, and safety procedures.
• Supporting in cost-control for the project site work, monitoring actual spend against forecasts, and estimating the final cost for the same.
• Performing site survey and determining required steps to execute site works activities.
• Participating in on-site reviews and ensuring all project cost adjustments approved by the Site Manager or Construction Site Manager are updated in business system.
• Defining Guarantee management and acceptance.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelors degree in Electircal, Mechanical or Electro-mechanical Engineering
• 5+ Years experience working with electrical systems Testing and Design, installation and maintenance
• Knowledge of Eplan, AutoCAD electrical or similar software for electrical design
• Open to travel 70% national to customer sites
