Job summary

ABB in Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to act as a design authority for a discipline and manage multiple small to mid-size projects on site. You will drive engineering quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery while coordinating with customers and internal teams.

You will also shape and verify designs, develop work plans and cost estimates, and ensure compliance with standards, safety, and cybersecurity policies. Proficiency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or related engineering field.
• 2+ years of experience in similar positions.
• Advanced English is required.
• Knowledge in electrical and mechanical drawings interpretation.
• Experience with EPLAN, AutoCAD, CREO, and SolidWorks.
• Experience with LV switchboards, switchgear, MCC or panelboards.

Responsibilities

• Act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity.
• Complete assignments on multiple small projects or portions of larger projects within budget.
• Ensure designs meet contract specs, quality, safety, and cybersecurity standards.
• Create work plans and cost estimates for project portfolios.
• Coordinate with functions to ensure designs are manufactured, tested, installed, and commissioned.
• Coach engineering colleagues translating conceptual designs to engineering docs and best practices.
• Perform design verification according to standards and guidelines.
