Mergon Group in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, seeks a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing activities, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery in a high-volume plant.

You will manage production teams, drive continuous improvement, conduct performance reviews, and collaborate with Quality, Engineering and Maintenance to resolve issues and optimise performance. This role emphasizes people leadership, training and adherence to 5S and SOPs.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role within manufacturing.

• Experience leading teams in high-volume production environments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Purpose of Role

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe, efficient and effective operation of a manufacturing area, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, cost and people management. The role provides frontline leadership to production teams and drives a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily production activities within the assigned manufacturing area.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, observations and active leadership.
• Manage production teams to achieve daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
• Conduct daily performance reviews and tier meetings.
• Monitor safety, quality, delivery and productivity KPIs and drive corrective actions where required.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and manufacturing standards.
• Manage employee attendance, scheduling, overtime and workforce allocation.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training of production employees.
• Ensure employees are properly trained and certified for their roles.
• Lead performance management, coaching and employee development activities.
• Foster a positive, engaged and accountable team culture.
• Ensure customer quality requirements are consistently achieved.
• Lead containment and response activities for quality issues.
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams to resolve operational issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety and cost reduction.
• Ensure effective communication and handover between shifts.
• Maintain high housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the production area.
• Participate in root cause investigations for safety, quality and production incidents.
• Ensure production records and inventory system transactions are completed accurately.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading teams in a high-volume production environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems and health and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in production reporting and KPI management.
