Stepan Company in Matamoros, Mexico, seeks a Production Operations Lead to oversee manufacturing activities in the chemical sector, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will provide resources, train staff, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with safety, quality, and maintenance teams to sustain reliable operations.

Formación

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, health, environment and quality management systems.
  • Experience with chemical precursors and regulatory compliance.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead production operations with resources, training, and direction to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant output.
  • Ensure adherence to production schedule by prioritizing tasks considering raw materials, personnel, equipment, and capacity.
  • Guarantee safe operations by promoting compliance with safety, health, environment, quality, and Responsible Care policies.
  • Manage and develop the manufacturing team by setting objectives and monitoring performance.
  • Monitor process performance by analyzing safety, quality, productivity, costs, waste, variances, and on-time delivery.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to increase capacity, reduce lead times, and optimize processes.
  • Follow up on incidents, audits, corrective actions, ensuring timely closure and recurrence prevention.
  • Participate in change management and plant projects evaluating impacts on safety, quality, productivity, and continuity.

Responsible for leading and managing production operations, ensuring adherence to the manufacturing schedule in compliance with established standards for safety, quality, productivity, cost and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead production operations by providing staff with necessary resources, tools, training, and direction to execute activities safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to the production schedule by reviewing operational priorities and making necessary adjustments based on the availability of raw materials, personnel, equipment, plant capacity, and business needs.
  • Guarantee safe and reliable operations by promoting compliance with policies and procedures regarding safety, health, environment, quality, responsible care, and process safety.
  • Manage and develop the manufacturing team by setting objectives, monitoring performance, strengthening technical competencies, and ensuring compliance with training plans.
  • Monitor production process performance by analyzing indicators related to safety, quality, productivity, costs, waste, raw material variances, equipment efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Lead continuous improvement and productivity initiatives by identifying opportunities, removing operational barriers, and coordinating projects that generate savings, increase capacity, reduce lead times and optimize processes.
  • Follow up on incidents, audit findings, and corrective actions, ensuring the timely closure of actions assigned to the manufacturing department and preventing recurrence.
  • Participate in change management and plant projects, evaluating impacts on safety, quality, productivity, resources, processes and operational continuity.
Profile:
  • Chemical Engineering
  • + 5 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, processes withing the chemical industry.
  • Advanced English Proficiency
  • Experience handling chemical precursors.
  • Knowledge of PSM, ISO 9001, risk analysis, MOC and Responsible care.
  • Management of operating budgets and manufacturing cost control.
