Job summary

DEIF in Mexico City seeks a Service & Support Engineer to provide qualified technical support, commissioning, troubleshooting and training for DEIF control solutions used across generator sets, ATS, BESS, PCS, solar inverters and microgrids.

This role combines remote technical support with hands-on field service, requiring independence, analytical skills and clear communication with customers and internal teams. Travel ~60% per year and occasional on-site work are expected.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in technical support, field service, commissioning, industrial automation, power generation, renewable energy or energy-storage systems.
• Strong practical experience with electrical drawings, multimeters, laptops, configuration software and remote-support tools.
• Knowledge of power generation and control systems including generator sets, AMF/ATS, synchronization, load sharing, frequency and voltage control, island and parallel operation.
• Understanding of BESS, inverters and microgrid applications including BMS, PCS, EMS, meters, protections and energy-management systems.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols, notably Modbus TCP/RTU, CAN/J1939, IEC 61850; Profinet desirable but not mandatory.
• Intermediate-to-advanced English for technical discussions, manuals, emails and international coordination.
• Strong customer focus, communication, accountability and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Mexico and occasionally internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support via phone, email, chat, ticketing and remote sessions.
• Support design reviews, on-site commissioning and standard applications.
• Perform service visits for commissioning, replacement, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute FAT/SAT tests and ensure customer acceptance criteria.
• Analyze issues and define corrective actions with traceable results.
• Create service reports, technical notes and training materials.
• Train customers, distributors and DEIF staff at basic/intermediate levels.
• Contribute to product quality feedback and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work safely on-site in industrial environments and follow PPE requirements.
