Job summary

Siemens Energy in Guanajuato is seeking an Operational Safety Lead to partner with Operations, translating risk and learning into prevention strategies for daily production, maintenance, and project activities at our plant.

You will coordinate the safety team, review permits, supervise contractor safety, and lead accident investigations, supporting a 24/7 operation while ensuring compliance with Mexican safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technical qualification in Industrial, Environmental, Chemical, or Safety Engineering
• At least 4 years of hands-on occupational safety experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial projects
• Experience coordinating field safety personnel or shift-based coverage
• Strong knowledge of permit-to-work, risk assessments, and contractor safety practices
• Knowledge of Mexican occupational safety regulations and STPS standards
• Experience planning large-tonnage lifting operations with cranes and rigging
• Experience leading accident and high-potential-event investigations and corrective actions

Responsibilities

• Develop risk-based coverage strategies for 24/7 operations and coordinate safety assignments
• Review and authorize permits to work for hot work, electrical work, and other critical activities including lifting operations
• Conduct field inspections, safety verifications, and audits; stop unsafe work and revalidate controls
• Supervise contractor execution; verify training, PPE, and lifting plans; address deviations
• Lead investigations of accidents and high-potential events with root-cause analysis
• Govern safety KPIs and regulatory compliance; translate trends into prevention strategies
