Nextpower in Mexico City, Mexico is seeking a Structural Engineer I to join our Project Engineering Team, supporting utility-scale PV projects from development through construction. Responsibilities include wind, seismic, and foundation analyses, steel design and component sizing, and the preparation of structural documentation to back project quotes and engineering packages.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with wind, seismic, and foundation analysis.
• Familiarity with international codes (IBC, ASCE, ASTM, AISC, AISI, ACI).
• Proficient with MS Office, AutoCAD, and LPile/AllPile.
• Experience with finite element software (RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro, OpenSees).
• Programming knowledge (Python) desirable.
• Strong teamwork and communication; English fluency required.

Responsabilidades

• Produce structural design calculations for solar tracker racking systems.
• Review site conditions and perform preliminary structural calculations.
• Conduct analyses for wind, seismic and foundation loads; sign and seal docs.
• Provide construction support and respond to RFIs.
• Develop knowledge of Nextpower products to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-regional engineering teams to maintain standards.
• Manage schedules and review deliverables from external consultants.
• Support process improvements and team development.
