Nextpower seeks a Structural Engineer in Mexico City to lead day-to-day structural activities for utility-scale PV projects, coordinating with US, India, and global offices. Responsibilities include wind/seismic analysis, foundation sizing, and producing structured documentation for quotes and packages.

Formación

• Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the EPC solar industry.
• Hands-on experience in structural analysis and design including dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads.
• Knowledge of international standards (IBC, ASCE, ASTM, AISC, AISI, ACI).
• Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, and foundation analysis tools (LPile/AllPile).
• Experience with finite element software (RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro, OpenSees).
• Desirable: knowledge of Python; strong communication and teamwork; English fluency.

Responsabilidades

• Produce structural design calculations for solar tracker racking systems.
• Review site conditions and perform preliminary structural calculations.
• Conduct wind, seismic, and foundation load analyses; prepare calculation packages; sign/seal documents as needed.
• Provide construction support and respond to RFIs; review submittals.
• Develop knowledge of Nextpower products to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-regional teams to maintain design standards and tools.
• Manage engineering schedules and review deliverables from external consultants.
• Support process improvement and team development within Project Engineering.
