Job summary

Openbank Mexico, part of Banco Santander, seeks a Head of Credit to define and lead the credit strategy for Mexico. You will own the credit P&L, manage growth, risk, and profitability while aligning with regulatory expectations and business objectives.

You will partner with Product and Data teams to design digital credit journeys and decisioning, building scalable credit models and scorecards for a market-leading proposition in Mexico.

Qualifications

• Significant senior experience in credit, lending, consumer finance, credit cards, retail banking, fintech or digital banking.
• Proven track record defining or scaling credit strategies, lending products or credit portfolios.
• Experience owning or managing P&L and portfolio performance within a credit, lending or consumer finance business.
• Previous exposure to fintech, digital banking, consumer lending, credit cards or high-growth金融 services businesses will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Define the end-to-end credit strategy for Openbank Mexico, including product scope and growth roadmap.
• Own the credit P&L, balancing origination, pricing, cost of risk and profitability.
• Lead end-to-end portfolio management with performance objectives across the credit lifecycle.
• Design the credit operating model with clear governance across teams (Business, Risk, Product, Operations, Data, Tech).
• Develop credit policies, portfolio management principles and decisioning frameworks.
• Partner with Product and Data teams to design digital credit journeys, scorecards and pricing logic.
• Own strategic view of credit portfolio performance including origination quality and delinquency.
• Support senior management with business cases, roadmaps, and strategic updates.
