Job summary

OMI in Puebla, Mexico is seeking a Launch Coordinator to drive new product introductions. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, track APQP milestones, and ensure timely launches with quality requirements across engineering, quality, manufacturing and suppliers, including international teams.

The role requires risk management, status reporting, and supporting launch gates to enable a smooth transition from development to production on global projects, including visits to the China facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Automotive Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, NPI, APQP, new product development, quality, manufacturing, or related areas.
• Experience coordinating new product launches, preferably in automotive or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with APQP main deliverables (FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, PPAP).
• General knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development stages.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new product launches according to project plans and APQP.
• Track project schedules, milestones, deliverables, responsibilities, and open actions.
• Coordinate follow-up meetings with cross-functional teams to review progress, risks, blockers, and deviations.
• Follow up on APQP deliverables including FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP, and other project documentation.
• Identify and monitor project risks, with owners, mitigation plans, and committed dates.
• Coordinate communication between Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, suppliers, customers, and international teams.
• Prepare project status reports and executive updates, including launch readiness and risks.
• Support launch gates by ensuring activities and deliverables are tracked and updated.
• Follow up on activities to transition from development into production.
• Coordinate follow-up with customers and suppliers for new product launches.
• Participate in customer visits, technical reviews, and launch activities in Mexico and internationally (China).
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and document lessons learned.
