Job summary

Vaisala in Mexico City is seeking a Field Installation Engineer to install, calibrate, and support our viewLinc, Liquid Measurement, and Power & Energy products. The role requires travel up to 75% and the ability to work in the United States as needed.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree and 5–8 years of field experience, with strong TCP/IP networking, OSHA-certified safety training, and experience in GxP environments. Fluent in English and Spanish is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field as a minimum requirement.
5–8 years of experience in a field engineer or technician role.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
OSHA safety certification(s) relevant to fieldwork.
Strong practical knowledge of TCP/IP networking and device configuration.
Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting industrial gateways and networked devices.
Experience in GxP-regulated environments (pharma, biotech, medical devices).
Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ validation and regulatory requirements (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11).
Ability to work at elevation, in enclosed spaces, and in cold environments.
Certified training in metrology, computer networking, or electronics.
Knowledge of low voltage wiring and basic circuit diagnostics.
Self-motivated with strong problem solving and communication skills.
Must be fluent in English and Spanish; willingness to travel to the U.S. and internationally.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site installation, configuration, commissioning, and upgrades of hardware and software.
Install and troubleshoot networked devices, including industrial routers/gateways, to ensure connectivity.
Diagnose and resolve networking issues (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, NAT, firewalls, VPN).
Support IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities with customer Quality teams for GxP compliance.
Provide technical training to end users on system operation and reporting.
Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades at customer sites.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide instrumentation service and support by phone and onsite.
Plan and manage travel, schedules, and workload efficiently.
Submit and track expenses and service reports; maintain site documentation.
