Job summary

Güdel Group in Monterrey, MX seeks an Automation Field Service Engineer to install, commission and service automation equipment at customer sites. You will troubleshoot controls, reprogram PLCs and HMIs, and provide on-site and remote support to ensure optimal system performance.

Qualifications include a degree in Mechatronics or related field and 1–2+ years in industrial automation, with strong English skills and willingness to travel up to 80%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls and Automation Engineering or a related career.
• 1–2+ years of industrial automation capital equipment manufacturing engineering, integration, or field service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and PC-based automation software tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and modify system parameters using PLCs, HMIs, and robotic motion control systems (ABB, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, FANUC, Omron, Siemens 840D, Yaskawa-Motoman).
• Strong relationship-building and collaborative skills.
• Professional, energetic, self-motivated, and results-driven.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
• Proficient English level.
• Ability to travel 80% of the time and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, launch and monitor the customer base.
• Troubleshoot, repair, reprogram, maintain, and improve equipment performance across the installed base.
• Carry out startups and commissioning of automation equipment.
• Identify and resolve electrical and software problems in the field.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support via phone, email or online.
• Modify control software (PLCs, safety PLCs and HMIs).
• Provide on-site production support to reduce downtime and prevent failures.
• Supervise electrical installations in automation equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and produce service reports and expense reports.
• Coordinate safety lockouts, machine requirements, and specifications with project managers and customers.
• Conduct internal technical training for staff and customers.
• Ensure timely, accurate documentation of procedures and reports.
• Strive for high efficiency and proactive service delivery.
