Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Mexico seeks a Conference Services Manager to oversee all aspects of event planning, from banquet functions to meeting room setups. You will liaise between planners, clients and hotel departments to ensure flawless execution and a superior guest experience during pre-opening and ongoing operations.

You will coordinate site inspections, prepare resumes, uphold SOPs, and drive revenue through contracted spaces while maintaining high client satisfaction metrics.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of conference services experience, preferably as a manager at a large convention hotel.
• Flexible work hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Professional appearance and presentation.
• Strong computer knowledge with MS Word, Delphi, Excel, Outlook, and other management systems.
• Experience with citywide conferences.
• Luxury or upper-upscale hotel experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• CMP certification or a similar industry designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare group resumes ten days prior to group arrival and review details in weekly staff meeting.
• Adhere to Catering and Conference Services SOPs.
• Establish the resort’s marketplace position within social and corporate communities.
• Follow SOPs to manage every step of event planning per hotel protocols.
• Ensure site inspections and client visits are successful with clear communication across departments.
• Achieve high Medallia scores by building rapport with clients and staying visible during conferences.
• Generate revenue for contracted rooms, function space, and catered events.
• Conduct pre- and post-conference meetings with clients as appropriate.
• Ensure accounts are serviced per resort standards and communicate with Banquet Managers about all banquet functions.
• Provide Banquet Event Orders to departments at least 15 days before events.
