Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Mexico City is seeking an Assistant Cost Manager to support urban development construction projects. The role focuses on cost control, budgeting and value management within a global professional services environment.

The successful candidate will have a degree in a QS-related field, at least 3 years in similar roles, and strong skills in cost analysis, project budgeting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Degree required or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Architecture.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in similar roles.
• Knowledge of construction costs and breakdowns.
• Proficient in MS Office and cost-modelling software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimations according to all design phases.
• Monitor, control and prepare valuations.
• Participate in value engineering sessions.
• Prepare and analyse change orders.
• Develop the primary project budget.
• Develop progress measurement criteria with vendors.
• Collect cost market data.
• Support quotation process responding to questions from services/materials proponents.
• Produce cash flow forecasts for internal and client purposes.
• Quantify materials and labour for all phases of a project.
• Review project budget after design packages issued by the technical team.
• Collaborate on a recommendation report.
• Participate in weekly project and departmental meetings.
• Issue weekly progress reports on project costs including forecasts.
