Job summary

Smiths is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver engineered-to-order sealing design services to Global Engineering and site offices. You will execute drawings, perform basic engineering calculations, and support continuous improvements while maintaining IMS compliance.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 1–2 years in design, proficiency with Solid Edge, and strong communication in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Design engineering experience with emphasis on precision components and assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret project requirements and drawings.
• Good communication skills across teams and levels of personnel.

Responsibilities

• Review design requirements and establish specifications.
• Prepare error-free General Arrangement and Manufacturing drawings in Solid Edge.
• Perform self-checks on drawings and maintain design documentation.
• Support global change processes and IMS compliance.
• Deliver timely drawing support to Global Engineering and site offices across countries.
