Job summary

Eaton in Mexico is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support monthly close for sites and manage balance sheet reconciliations, VAT compliance, and tax recording accuracy. You will process journal entries, accruals, and cash applications, while ensuring compliance with Mexican statutory requirements and collaborating with audit teams.

The role requires 2–3 years in general accounting, a bachelor’s in accounting, and familiarity with SAP/Oracle; English proficiency is helpful for

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in general accounting.
• Knowledge of Mexican statutory reporting and VAT.
• Exposure to US GAAP / MEX GAAP is a plus.
• SAP or Oracle familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support monthly closing for sites.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations (BSR) including VAT.
• Record and reconcile various journal entries, accruals, and cash applications.
• Review and validate cash application for invoices collected.
• Prepare monthly income/expense reconciliations.
• Register and analyze hedges monthly.
• Ensure accuracy of taxes recorded (VAT).
• Generate monthly payment complements for invoices per tax rules.
• Review Treasury, ICA & ZBA processes and reconciliations.
• Support process improvements and standard work.
• Collaborate with Internal Control Audits and Statutory Audits.
• Maintain safety, 5S+ environment and contribute to GFSS goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

What you’ll do:Perform and support the monthly closing process, prepare Balance sheet Reconciliations BSR (AP,accruals, taxes, etc),various journal entries , accruals, Cash aplication, Bank transactions recording and reconciliation,creation of accounts payables for some services, etc.Job Responsibilities1. General accounting procedures and perform the monthly closing process for Sites.2. Review and validate the cash application for the invoices collected during the month.3. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations every month for different balance accounts.4. Prepare on a monthly basis the income and expenses reconciliation.5. Register and analysis for Hedges on a monthly basis.6. Ensure the accuracy for taxes recorded, mainly VAT.7. Generate on a monthly basis the complement of payment for all invoices collected to comply with tax requirements.8. Review Treasury, ICA & ZBA. Ensure correct recording and Reconciliation .9. Prepare the accruals for beneffits such as EPS, Estate Tax and Insurances.10. Support and/or lead department activities related to process improvements and standard work.11. Maintain an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement to achieve departmental and GFSS goals. Support site, functional or corporate initiatives.12. Collaborate with the Internal Control Audit and Statutory Audits for the sites and activities under the scope.13. Other activities assigned by supervisor or special requirements from management or company.14.
