Job summary

Eaton Group in Querétaro seeks an Accountant to perform and support monthly closing processes, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and manage tax compliance tasks. The role requires 2–3 years in general accounting, knowledge of Mexican statutory reporting, and familiarity with SAP or Oracle.

Strong English and analytical skills are essential. Responsibilities include cash application validation, journal entries, accruals, and collaboration with internal controls and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in general accounting.
• Knowledge of Mexican statutory reporting requirements is essential.
• Understanding of VAT/tax regulation and monthly closings.
• Exposure to US GAAP / MEX GAAP reporting requirements.
• SAP or Oracle knowledge a plus; intermediate English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support monthly closing process for sites.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts.
• Validate cash application and invoices collected during month.
• Prepare monthly income and expense reconciliations.
• Register and analyze hedges on a monthly basis.
• Ensure accuracy of taxes recorded, mainly VAT.
• Generate monthly payment complements for invoices per tax rules.
• Review Treasury, ICA & ZBA; ensure correct recording and reconciliation.
• Prepare accruals for benefits such as EPS, Estate Tax, and insurances.
• Support process improvements and standard work initiatives.
• Maintain teamwork and continuous improvement to meet GFSS goals.
• Collaborate with Internal Control Audits and Statutory Audits.
• Support site, functional, or corporate initiatives as assigned.
• Maintain safe, clean working environment per Eaton standards and 5S+.

Job description

What you’ll do:

Perform and support the monthly closing process, prepare Balance sheet Reconciliations BSR (AP,accruals, taxes, etc),various journal entries , accruals, Cash aplication, Bank transactions recording and reconciliation,creation of accounts payables for some services, etc.

Job Responsibilities

1. General accounting procedures and perform the monthly closing process for Sites.

2. Review and validate the cash application for the invoices collected during the month.

3. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations every month for different balance accounts.

4. Prepare on a monthly basis the income and expenses reconciliation.

5. Register and analysis for Hedges on a monthly basis.

6. Ensure the accuracy for taxes recorded, mainly VAT.

7. Generate on a monthly basis the complement of payment for all invoices collected to comply with tax requirements.

8. Review Treasury, ICA & ZBA. Ensure correct recording and Reconciliation .

9. Prepare the accruals for beneffits such as EPS, Estate Tax and Insurances.

10. Support and/or lead department activities related to process improvements and standard work.

11. Maintain an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement to achieve departmental and GFSS goals. Support site, functional or corporate initiatives.

12. Collaborate with the Internal Control Audit and Statutory Audits for the sites and activities under the scope.

13. Other activities assigned by supervisor or special requirements from management or company.

14. Maintain safe, clean working environment in compliance with all Eaton safety standards, Life Saving Rules, and daily 5S+ requirements to help build a Zero Incident Culture. #LI-KL1

Qualifications:

Education level required

Bachelor degree necessary in Accounting.

Years and area of experience required

2 - 3 years of experience in general accounting

Technical knowledge

Knowledge of Mexican statutory reporting requirements essential; sound understanding of Tax regulation

Monthly closing process

Conciliations - IVA & CFDI

Exposure to US GAAP / MEX GAAP reporting requirements

SAP/Oracle Knowledge is a plus
