Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Milan is seeking a Sous Chef to join our Kitchen team and uphold the highest standards of food quality and teamwork in a luxury setting.

You will report to the Executive Sous Chef and be responsible for menu planning, stock control, and ensuring food safety across the kitchen. This role requires 5+ years in fine dining, fluent English and Italian, and a professional demeanour.

Qualifications

• Menu planning and recipes knowledge.
• Fine dining knowledge and experience for at least 5 years.
• Speak, read and communicate in English and Italian.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of specified work under the Executive Sous Chef.
• Ensure food preparation, quality and presentation are met at all times under guidance from the Executive Sous Chef.
• Monitor stock movement and replenish on your section.
• Carry out daily and weekly procedures including temperature checks and labeling/dating.
• Be responsible for safe handling of deliveries and proper storage on your shift.
