Job summary

DHL Italy – Bologna site is seeking a Site Manager to lead operations, safety, and customer relations, driving the site’s strategic performance in line with DHL standards.

You will manage a 250-strong operations team, own the P&L, implement Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, and build strong relationships with customers while ensuring quality and safe, efficient operations at the new facility.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Economics or a related field.
• Significant experience in Logistics/Supply Chain.
• Proven track record in people leadership and industrial relations.
• Fluent English.
• Strong leadership and strategic planning for the site.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, WCM, TPM, Six Sigma or similar.
• Strong customer orientation and stakeholder management.

We are looking for a Site Manager – Bologna .

The successful candidate will lead operations at our new Bologna site , taking full responsibility for operational performance, people, safety, financial results and customer relationship .

What Will You Do

• Warehouse Management: organize and plan daily activities in line with customer requirements, ensuring efficient management of operational flows, inventory, inbound and outbound activities, returns and materials.
• Take full operational and financial responsibility for managing a safe, efficient and profitable site, ensuring high operational standards for both the organization and the customer.
• Lead the change mindset towards standardization, operational excellence and continuous improvement .
• Manage, engage and develop a large operational team of approximately 250 employees , fostering accountability, performance and collaboration.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers , ensuring service excellence and alignment with business expectations.
• Monitor the site's organizational structure and span of control , identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead by example, reinforcing behaviors aligned with DHL culture, leadership principles and operational standards .
• Manage external providers supporting the site's general services, including security, infrastructure and maintenance .
• Ensure full compliance with safety, quality and operational standards , promoting a strong safety culture across the site.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Economics or a related field.
• Solid experience in Logistics / Supply Chain , preferably gained in complex or industrial environments.
• Significant experience in direct people management , ideally within large operational teams.
• Proven track record in people leadership and industrial relations / union management .
• Fluent English.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to define and successfully deploy a strategic plan for the site.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, WCM, TPM, Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong customer orientation and ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Team player with a proactive, collaborative and positive mindset.

Salary Package: € 60.000 - € 70.000
