TMF Group is seeking a payroll specialist in Italy with a strong focus on AI-enabled processes. You will manage end-to-end payroll operations, drive automation, and ensure compliance with Italian regulations.

The role emphasizes leveraging AI tools to streamline delivery and data accuracy. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in payroll, fluent Italian, professional English, and experience with AI tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, Power Automate, and Power BI.

We are seeking a payroll professional who combines payroll expertise with a genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence, technology and automation. The ideal candidate had solid experience in payroll operations in Italy and is passionate about identifying new ways to improve processes through digital tools, automation, AI-powered solutions, and data-driven decision-making.

This role will be working closely with Technology and Compliance teams to enhance efficiency, reduce manual tasks, improve accuracy, and deliver exceptional experience to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support end-to-end payroll processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize payroll workflows.
• Explore and implement AI-powered solutions to improve payroll delivery.
• Analyze payroll processes and recommend automation initiatives.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance data validation, reporting, documentation, and process efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement process improvements.
• Ensure payroll activities remain compliant with Italian labor, tax, and social security regulations.
• Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI developments relevant to payroll services.
• Create best-practice guidelines for the use of AI within payroll operations.
• Train and support payroll teams on new technologies and innovative working methods.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in payroll administration (at least 4 years), preferably within a payroll services, consultancy, or outsourcing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Italian payroll legislation and regulations.
• Analytical mindset with strong process-improvement capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent Italian and professional English.
• Experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Power Automate, Power BI, or similar technologies.
• Exposure to payroll transformation, process optimization, shared services, or digital transformation projects.
• Knowledge of robotic process automation (RPA) or workflow automation platforms.
