Danaher is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead complex, multi-country payrolls across the EMEA region, ensuring exceptional accuracy, compliance, risk management and stakeholder confidence. The Senior Payroll Specialist is the senior subject‑matter expert and operational lead for payroll across assigned regions, ensuring exceptional accuracy, compliance, risk management and stakeholder confidence. The Senior Payroll Specialist provides expert guidance on complex payroll matters, drives harmonisation and continuous improvement, and plays a critical role in shaping regional payroll strategy, controls and capability.

This position reports to Payroll Manager- EMEA and is part of the Corporate organisation. Candidates that currently sit on‑site or remotely will maintain their current location.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide senior‑level ownership for complex, high‑risk or multi‑country payrolls across EMEA and act as the recognized expert for payroll calculations, statutory interpretation and regulatory changes
  • Process complex multi‑country payrolls with precision and timeliness. Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial and local payroll regulations. Manage off‑cycle payments, adjustments and final pay calculations. Prepare and submit required filings and reports.
  • Validate and correct payroll data prior to processing. Escalate and resolve payroll discrepancies. Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities. Interpret payroll policies across jurisdictions.
  • Maintain and audit employee payroll records, including tax withholdings, benefits and direct deposits. Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate on payroll system upgrades, integrations and configuration to ensure regional consistency. Support the rollout of standardised payroll workflows across the region.
  • Support documentation and implementation of standardised payroll procedures. Provide input on harmonisation milestones and system enhancements.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business or minimum of 7 years of related payroll experience
  • 5+ years of experience processing complex payroll, in a multi‑country environment.
  • Deep, expert‑level understanding of end‑to‑end payroll operations and statutory requirements and extensive experience managing complex, multi‑country payroll environments
  • Expert in payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP or similar.
  • Proven problem‑solving abilities to troubleshoot payroll issues and implement solutions.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Excellent level of written and spoken English required; additional European languages strongly advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with employees and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑country operational environment.

Base salary and level of employment

This role is classified under the applicable CCNL as level 1, which defines minimum terms, job classification and baseline progression frameworks. The expected gross annual salary range for this role is €45 950 to €63 350, determined based on objective criteria such as experience, skills and role‑related competencies.

Bonus / Incentive Pay

10% of annual base salary

This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay. This is the target earnings as % of base annual salary, subject to objective eligibility criteria and performance conditions as set out in the applicable scheme terms and conditions.

The employing legal entity for the successful candidate will be determined at offer stage, based on location, business requirements and applicable local regulations.
