Your responsibilities as a Senior Global Operations Associate include, but are not limited to:
- Being the “front line” in ensuring the highest standard of Flexport quality: shipments move on-time and exceptions are handled appropriately. Support your team in mid to high escalations, high complexity movements, delicate communication, and other tactical touch points.
- Supporting the manager in guiding the team to improve and deliver great performance, including data quality and shipment milestone timeliness; ensuring work satisfies internal KPIs and SLAs.
- Following standard operating procedures (SOP) and supporting the development of scalable operational infrastructure and procedures to ensure high efficiency and productivity for your customers. Continuously seeking improvements and taking action accordingly.
- Representing Flexport’s value proposition by leading business implementation and shipment execution for new clients and opportunities.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external escalations, resolving client issues swiftly and ensuring smooth operations at origin/destination, while escalating issues as needed. Always acting in the company’s best interest by avoiding leakages and promoting cost-conscious behavior.
Overall, your team will:
- Coordinate day-to-day logistics operations with partners such as steamship lines, intermodal and drayage vendors, customs, trade lane management, warehousing, transloading, and trucking.
- Execute end-to-end freight movement within a regional network, including intermodal movements.
- Assist partner-managed shipments to promote partner autonomy where applicable.
Requirements:
- BA / BS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business, or successful completion of an apprenticeship.
- 3+ years experience in freight forwarding, logistics / supply chain, or ocean carrier operations (ocean freight preferred).
- Fluent in English and Italian; additional European languages are a plus.
- Ability to adapt to new technology and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong problem-solving, structured thinking, and process optimization abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build feedback loops within teams and services.
