ABB in Italy is seeking a Sales Support / Proposal Engineer to back the assigned sales organization through the proposal process. You will serve as a key technical resource, developing descriptions of products and technologies, and preparing costed final documentation.

The role focuses on ABB Robotics, with collaboration across Sales, Engineering, Project Management and Global Units. Italian and English communication is required, with occasional travel.

Competenze

• Proposal development, cost estimation and solution definition for robotics.
• 3–5 years in sales support, proposal engineering or automation.
• Knowledge of RobotStudio, MS Office, CRM and costing methods.
• Strong customer focus, negotiation and teamwork.

This Position Reports To

Senior Engineering Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal process. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation.

The Work Model For The Role Is

This role is contributing to the Robotics Automation Division- Robotics Operations in Italy.

Main stakeholders are Sales Organization, Customers, Proposal & Engineering Team, Project Management, Product Management, Global Business Units and Factories.

You Will Be Mainly Accountable For

• Offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/channels/Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications.


• Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries.


• Developing and maintaining new sales opportunities and resolving specific customer problems; and ensuring achievement of targets on orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS).


• Ensuring the achievement of budget goals, including volume targets and profitable growth, across all assigned product groups and in the respective countries.

Qualifications For The Role

• You are highly skilled in technical-commercial proposal development, cost estimation and solution definition for the industrial robotics and automation market.


• You have 3-5 years of experience in sales support, proposal engineering, application engineering or industrial automation.


• Possess an enhanced knowledge of ABB RobotStudio, Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools and costing methodologies.


• You are passionate about customer focus, negotiation, teamwork and problem solving.


• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or equivalent technical background.


• You are at ease communicating in Italian and English.


• Availability for occasional customer visits and business travel.

Compensation Package

As part of our commitment to transparency, we want to share the compensation details for this position: Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico. Minimum annual salary: €39.000. Variable Pay: Eligible for Company Productivity Bonus. The offer will be tailored based on your role location, experience, skills and qualifications, internal market positioning and alignment with ABB internal standards.
