Rail Depot Manager — Operations & Safety Leader

Job summary

Alstom in Ancona is seeking a capable engineer/manager to oversee the service contract, ensuring availability, reliability and safety while supporting commercial needs.

You will lead train delivery, monitor fleet performance, develop staff competencies, and coordinate with contractors and suppliers, applying ALSTOM policies and ISO standards. Fluent English and Italian are required with a technical mechanical or electrical degree and 5+ years in rail.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• English and Italian languages required; fluent professional English and Italian.
• Experience: +5 years in mechanical/electrical engineering and maintenance or production management in railway industry or similar.
• IT skills – competent user of PC and office packages.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all aspects of the service contract are efficiently and effectively managed and to ensure customer deliverables in availability, reliability and safety are achieved.
• Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with Health & Safety at Work Rules and Regulations, ANSF standards and ECM regulations (where applicable).
• Be responsible for train delivery, ensuring trains are made available to meet customer contractual requirements.
• Monitor fleet performance to meet customer requirements and take corrective actions when targets are not met.
• Lead development of preventive and corrective staff competencies and implement company policies for staff development.
• Manage interfaces with contractors and suppliers and lead key business initiatives including Kaizen continuous improvement.
• Carry out Health and Safety duties including setting objectives and achieving safety targets as set by the Trains operations manager.
• Ensure documentation of Quality procedures and ISO 9001:2015 compliance; conduct Quality, Safety and Communications briefings.
