Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC is seeking a Tender Operations and Contracts Specialist for a 12-month, part-time role in Rome. The position supports the Tender Office across Italy, Spain and Portugal, coordinating tenders and documenting required materials with internal and external partners.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, bond management, and maintaining the Tender Dashboard to enable sound business decisions throughout the tender lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Economics, Law, Pharmacy, Life Sciences or related fields.
• Alternative: high school diploma with significant relevant experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operational activities related to public tenders.
• Liaise with external tender service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate tender submissions.
• Coordinate collection and maintenance of corporate documentation required for tender participation.
• Review published tenders and assess participation requirements, quantities and base prices with relevant teams.
• Review commercial documentation, pricing schedules and post‑award contracts before internal approval.
• Support management of contract amendments, extensions and price changes.
• Maintain Tender Dashboard and Tender Repository for accurate tracking and reporting.
• Coordinate management of bid and performance bonds with external broker and US Insurance Department.
