Job summary

Catenon is seeking a hands-on Payroll Manager to own payroll and personnel administration in Italy. The role focuses on day-to-day operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability within a growing retail environment.

You will manage end-to-end payroll for 400+ employees, coordinate with labor consultants, and lead payroll ERP implementation, building robust processes while staying current with Italian labor laws and CCNL.

Our client is an international company operating in the retail sector, currently undergoing strong expansion in Italy.

We are looking for a hands-on and highly operational Payroll Manager to take full ownership of payroll and personnel administration in Italy.

This is not a purely managerial or strategic position. The role requires a senior payroll specialist mindset — someone who enjoys the day-to-day detail, understands operational complexity, and is ready to assume full responsibility while building processes in a hands-on, growing environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of payroll experience in Italy in multi-site environments
• Fluency in English (Spanish is a plus)
• Experience managing a high volume of employees
• Strong knowledge of Italian labor law and CCNL
• Hands-on experience with variable payroll components
• Experience with payroll ERP systems (implementation or migration is highly valued)
