Job summary

Jefferson Wells Italia is seeking a skilled Payroll Manager in Milano centro, responsible for accurate salaries, tax declarations, and compliance with Italian payroll laws.

You will oversee weekly and monthly payroll processing, coordinate with external providers, and partner with the business to resolve payroll questions.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 7–9 years payroll experience, CCNL knowledge, fluent English, and ADP experience, with hybrid work allowed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or HR.
• 7–9 years of payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of Italian labor law and CCNL (Commercio).
• Fluent English required; ADP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct payroll procedures.
• Ensure compliance with laws and payroll tax obligations.
• Support requests by answering daily questions and challenges.
• Plan, execute and process weekly/monthly payroll on systems.
• Oversee and direct payroll procedures including timekeeping.
• Manage payroll changes (hiring, terminations, salary updates) and system upgrades.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies.
• Manage workflow within the team for timely payroll processing.
• Maintain relations with external providers and consultants (payroll provider, labour advisors).
• Interpret UNIEMENS reports, CU forms, and INAIL declarations.
• Prepare reports and be proactive in proposing solutions.

As Payroll Manager you are responsible for generating and ensuring accuracy of salaries calculation, income taxes and other salary related fulfillment.

You are responsible for guaranteeing declarations to authorities and payments corresponding to legal demands.

Your responsibilities

• Oversee and direct payroll procedures
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations
• Being a business partner, supporting requests by answering daily questions and exceptional challenges
• Manage the planning, execution and accurate processing of the weekly / monthly payroll processes on systems
• Oversee and direct payroll procedures including timekeeping
• Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, salary updates) and system upgrades
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, payroll tax obligations and internal policies
• Manage the workflow within the team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
• Keep relations with the external providers and consultants (i.e. payroll provider, labour advisors)
• Knowledge and proficiency in interpreting UNIEMENS reports, CU forms, and INAIL self-assessment declarations
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
• Be proactive in proposing solutions and solving issues
• Participate and make decisions, on an overall level, in the requirement work

Who you are

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Human Resources
• Minimum of 7-9 years' related payroll experience
• Strong knowledge of Italian labor law and CCNL (Commercio)
• Strong ability to plan, prioritize and ensure decisions
• Have competence within digital/tech and Omni ways of working
• Fluency in English
• Knowledge of ADP platform is preferred
