Job summary

Costa Crociere S.p.A. is seeking an Environmental Officer to serve as the onboard environmental compliance expert, ensuring operations meet procedures and international standards.

You will monitor compliance, coach crews, promote sustainability, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the ship. The role requires engineering or environmental science background with 3+ years of relevant experience, English at B2, and formal environmental officer training.

Qualifications

• Must have marine/ship experience or environmental protection background.
• Engineering or environmental science degree with relevant experience.
• Mandatory corporate environmental officer training and HR 6001 Annex 1.
• English at least B2; proficient across MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor environmental compliance across shipboard operations.
• Conduct inspections and verify waste management practices.
• Review environmental records and documentation.
• Provide training on environmental procedures and best practices.
• Support audits, corrective actions and incident response.
• Prepare environmental compliance reports and maintain records.
• Support fleet environmental officer visits and emergency preparedness.
