Manning | Fratelli Cosulich is seeking a Second Engineer to supervise the maintenance and operation of all mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems onboard. You will ensure safety and compliance with international maritime standards and support the engineering team in daily vessel operations.

Ideal candidates hold STCW III/2 CoC, Italian endorsement, and Seaman's Book, with fluency in Italian and English.

Job Description
  • Maintenance and Operation: Supervise and participate in the maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems onboard, ensuring they are operational and meet safety and environmental standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Implement and monitor compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Conduct regular inspections and drills, ensuring all engineering practices adhere to international maritime laws and conventions.
  • Emergency Response: Act as a key member of the emergency response team, ready to manage or support engineering-related incidents onboard.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of engineering department activities, including but not limited to maintenance and repair logs, inventory of spare parts and supplies, and fuel and oil consumption.
  • Team Management: Assist in leading and managing the engineering team, promoting a culture of safety and excellence. Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and engine room crew.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Chief Engineer and other department heads to ensure the vessel's operational efficiency. Participate in planning and executing onboard operations, including loading, discharging, and maneuvering.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to the vessel's crew, ensuring all onboard operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
