Costa Crociere S.p.A. is seeking an Assistant Inventory Officer to ensure smooth onboard inventories, support cost control, and sustain guest experiences through accurate reporting and cross-department collaboration.

You will monitor stock levels, verify invoices, support store management and logistics, and uphold HACCP safety and food handling standards aboard our vessels, in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.

Competenze

  • Background in accounting, inventory management, cost control or related administrative activities.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and cost control processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data reporting.
  • English at least B2 level and HACCP knowledge.

Mansioni

  • Prepare daily Food Cost Report; verify consumption data and cost control.
  • Review invoices and purchase documentation for accuracy.
  • Monitor stock levels and inventory transactions; ensure data reliability.
  • Report stock-on-hand to maintain visibility and readiness.
  • Verify invoices against customers; ensure correct quantities and codes.
  • Perform accurate data entry and align items before reports to shore side.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As an Assistant Inventory Officer, you will contribute to the efficient management of onboard inventories, helping ensure operational continuity, cost control and the availability of products and services that support the guest experience. Through accurate reporting, stock monitoring and collaboration across departments, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence onboard. You will promote accountability, safety and collaboration while supporting the highest operational standards.

Food Cost Control & Documentation Management
  • Prepare the daily Food Cost Report by verifying the accuracy of consumption data, ensuring effective cost control and supporting efficient onboard operations.
  • Support the Inventory Officer by reviewing invoices and purchase documentation, identifying discrepancies and contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial and operational records.
  • Monitor inventory-related transactions and reporting activities, ensuring reliable data that supports operational and business decision-making.
  • Regularly report stock-on-hand levels to ensure inventory visibility and operational readiness.
  • Provide and verify invoices against customers ensuring accuracy of quantities, item codes and financial data.
  • Perform accurate data entry activities and verify item alignment before submitting reports to shore-side offices.
Inventory Monitoring & Operational Support
  • Support the planning and monitoring of inventory flows, requisitions and storage activities to ensure operational continuity.
  • Contribute to maintaining organized store management practices and inventory control standards across the vessel.
Safety Culture & Awareness
  • Promote compliance with company policies, regulations and safety procedures.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, hygiene and food handling excellence, ensuring compliance with HACCP principles and company standards.
WHO YOU ARE
Required:
  • Secondary School Diploma (bachelor’s degree in economics, Business Administration or related fields is preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience in accounting, inventory management, cost control or related administrative activities
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and cost control processes
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • English knowledge at least at B2 level
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP standards
  • Expertise in store management, requisition processes and inventory logistics
  • Proactive and accountable, able to identify issues and contribute to effective solutions
  • Analytical thinker, comfortable working with data and operational reports
  • Customer-minded, understanding the impact of inventory management on the overall guest experience
  • Adaptable and collaborative, able to work effectively in multicultural and cross-functional environments
Nice to have:
  • Previous experience in cruise, hospitality, Food & Beverage, logistics or supply chain environments with high operational complexity.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and reporting tools.

Contract type: Fixed-term, full-time, onboard — average duration 4–6 months – CBA signed on 20.11.2020 for shipboard personnel employed by CSCS
