Job summary

Hermes Corporate seeks an AI Developer with a background in industrial automation and control systems to build AI-powered tools for analyzing, comparing, and validating industrial configurations. The role focuses on Python development, FastAPI services, and integrating LLM APIs to support engineering teams.

You will parse configuration exports, explain control logic, generate documentation, and collaborate with controls engineers to scope new use cases and validate outputs.

Qualifications

• Background in industrial automation or control systems (DCS, PLC or machine control).
• 2+ years of software development experience, mainly in Python.
• Good understanding of control logic, sequencing, protections and I/O.
• Comfort working with XML and structured data.

Responsibilities

• Parse and structure control system configuration exports (XML and similar formats) so LLMs can reason over them.
• Build LLM-based tools that explain control logic, alarms and I/O, and that flag changes between configuration versions.
• Generate technical documentation and checklists from control configurations.
• Develop and deploy backend services in Python and FastAPI that integrate LLM APIs.
• Work with controls engineers to validate outputs and capture their know-how.
• Take part in client meetings to scope new use cases.
