Job summary

FAO in Rome seeks an Information Technology Assistant (Global Operations, End-Point Computing) to coordinate IT support and ensure high-quality service delivery. The role focuses on end-user computing, incident response, and routine maintenance within the Digital FAO division.

The incumbent will work under supervision to install hardware/software, ensure security compliance, and maintain records. This fixed-term contract offers local recruitment and opportunities to contribute to global IT

Qualifications

• Secondary School Education.
• Three years of IT-support experience.
• Working knowledge of English (level C).
• Experience installing/configuring hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Provide user support and deliver timely IT service to staff.
• Assist in installation, configuration, and basic maintenance of IT hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot routine issues and escalate complex problems.
• Support endpoint security compliance under supervision.
• Maintain accurate records of IT equipment and configurations.
• Log and track service requests and incidents per procedures.
• Assist in system maintenance tasks, updates and backups.
• Support IT-related deployments and minor infrastructure tasks.
• Perform other related duties as required.
