Job summary

FAO—Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, based in Rome, is seeking an Information Technology Assistant (Global Operations, End-Point Computing). The role provides IT support to staff, assists in hardware/software installation and maintenance, and ensures secure, reliable endpoint computing within the CSI - Digital FAO and Agro-Informatics Division.

The position requires 3 years of IT-support experience, Secondary School Education, and working knowledge of English.

Qualifications

Secondary School Education is required.
Three years of IT-support experience or equivalent.
Working knowledge of English (level C).
Experience with Windows, macOS, and MS 365 environments; familiarity with video conferencing tools.

Responsibilities

Provide user IT support and deliver timely service to staff.
Assist in installation, configuration, and basic maintenance of hardware and software.
Troubleshoot routine IT issues and escalate complex problems to higher-level teams.
Support endpoint security and maintain IT asset records.
Log service requests and incidents per procedures; assist in updates and backups.
